HealthQ’s mission is to build technology that helps consumers live healthier lives. By giving individuals greater insight into their lifestyles through accurate data, they can make decisions that will improve their fitness levels and health.

Our proprietary technology platform can be used in conjunction with smart watches and other sensors to generate data, which, along with our bio-mathematical models, can be used to give people deep insights into their health and fitness. People can then use these insights to make better choices about lifestyle, diet, exercise, and even medication.

Using these innovations we work with global companies, like LifeQ (http://www.lifeq.com), to provide them with the technology and expertise they need to complete the industrialisation and commercialisation process of products they’re creating in the wellness, weight-loss and fitness space.

Our multi-disciplinary team of biologists, electronic engineers, mechanical engineers, mathematicians, physicists, and computer scientists is based in Stellenbosch, a beautiful town in the heart of the Cape Winelands. This means that when you work here, you will always be close to beautiful mountains, great food, and lots of wine.

We got our start constructing one of only 20 metabolic chambers in the world – and the first one based on open source technology. Today we work with data from various sources building models and algorithms, and do everything from firmware on devices for more accurate data, to Cloud infrastructure for handling large-scale data influx, to Data Science, research and modelling, and to reference mobile and web apps.

Our development process is built upon a strong DevOps culture, guided by a Kanban approach and driven by innovation. We use cutting edge technologies to build robust, scalable applications guided by the principles of the Reactive Manifesto (http://www.reactivemanifesto.org).
