Previously, candidates could only be passively discovered by companies. Now, they can actively apply to job postings from companies directly on our platform. This change has not only expanded opportunities for candidates but has also opened up new ways for companies to engage with our vast candidate network.
Today, we’re thrilled to announce our latest enhancement: Job Alerts. This feature is designed to keep candidates informed about job opportunities that align with their skills and interests—whether they’re actively searching or not. Through Job Alerts, candidates can discover compelling job opportunities at companies they admire, and apply to the companies from within OfferZen.
A Win-Win Feature for Candidates and Companies
For Candidates
One of the biggest challenges in job hunting is staying up-to-date with opportunities, especially for those who aren’t actively looking. Job Alerts gives candidates a sneak peek into our marketplace without requiring them to log in frequently or search manually. The jobs are matched to the rich data from their OfferZen profiles to ensure they’re getting relevant notifications. Candidates who aren’t currently live (our term for an active job-seeking status) on our platform can still browse jobs to gauge what’s available. Then, with just two clicks, they can easily submit applications to jobs that catch their eye. This seamless process makes it easy for candidates to apply to these jobs with all the benefits of the OfferZen platform, like a dedicated talent advisor, salary guidance and responsive companies.
For Companies
Our platform hosts a robust community of skilled candidates, many of whom have previously been live and are familiar with our network. By re-engaging these candidates through Job Alerts, companies gain access to an expanded pool of potential applicants. Job alerts increase the chances of finding the right fit quickly, as candidates are pre-matched to relevant jobs based on their profiles, and jobs are now made available to the wider OfferZen talent pool. Companies can now get the benefits of having only curated, active, responsive talent in their inbox - but now with expanded reach and control.
Building Job Alerts: A Step-by-Step Journey
Creating the Job Alerts feature involved building a set of features that ultimately combine to help candidates find matching jobs fast. The first step was to enable companies to publish their jobs, in order to make them available to candidates. The second step was to enable candidates to apply to the jobs, thereby transforming the OfferZen marketplace to become dual sided. From there, we enabled even non-live candidates to browse job listings, as we saw how this capability kept them connected to opportunities.
However, we realized that just displaying job listings wasn’t enough; candidates needed to know when exciting roles matching their skills became available. This insight led us to develop Job Alerts, a feature designed to notify candidates of new opportunities through email, driving them back to the platform where they can go live and apply with ease.
Intelligent Matching: Delivering Relevant Opportunities
We understand that relevance is key when it comes to job alerts. Each candidate profile on our platform acts like a dynamic CV, reflecting skills, experiences, and interests. With this information, Job Alerts intelligently matches candidates with open roles that align with their profiles. This proactive matching approach ensures that the opportunities shared are meaningful, increasing the likelihood of candidates re-engaging and applying.
