đź’Ľ About the Role
STX is building a next-generation in-house Energy Trading & Risk Management (ETRM) capability, and we’re looking for experienced Openlink / Endur Engineers to be part of this strategic transformation. You'll work hands-on with our global trading, risk, and operations teams to evolve and enhance our Openlink platform—focusing on scalable architecture, clean integrations, and domain-driven design that meets the realities of physical and financial commodity trading.
This is not a support role. It’s a builder’s role—a chance to design, optimize, and extend the Openlink landscape to meet high-performance front office and risk requirements.
🛠️ What You'll Do
- Lead or contribute to the design, development, and integration of Openlink Endur components across the trade lifecycle.
- Extend JVS and Connex frameworks to support evolving business needs in power, gas, and environmental products.
- Collaborate directly with traders, risk analysts, and middle/back office teams to translate requirements into clean, scalable solutions.
- Build APIs and services for trade modeling, pricing, valuation, and reporting workflows.
- Integrate Openlink with broader ETRM and data infrastructure, including cloud-native tools and messaging platforms.
- Participate in design discussions on custom extensions, curve modeling, deal capture workflows, and transport/storage modeling.
- Drive operational excellence through automation, testing, and monitoring.
- Support migration, upgrade, or replatforming initiatives as part of our long-term architectural vision.
🎯 What You’ll Bring
- 5–10+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with deep experience in Openlink Endur (JVS, Connex, AVS).
- Solid SQL skills and experience with performance tuning in a trading context (MS SQL or equivalent).
- Hands-on experience with commodity trading, especially gas, power, emissions, and structured products.
- Strong coding skills in Java, with familiarity in modern backend tools (Spring Boot, REST/JSON, Docker, GitLab CI/CD).
- Understanding of deal lifecycle, settlements, risk metrics, valuation, and pricing models.
- Experience in integrating ETRM systems with external platforms via APIs, messaging, or flat files.
- Familiarity with DevOps and cloud environments (Azure or AWS).
- Proven ability to collaborate with business users, understand requirements, and deliver stable, scalable solutions.
⚙️ Bonus Points For
- Exposure to non-linear financial derivatives or physical logistics modeling (storage, transport).
- Familiarity with volatility and curve modeling in Openlink.
- Experience working in high-volume or regulated energy markets (Europe, North America).
- Prior roles in an energy firm or consultancy with Openlink/ETRM implementation experience.
🌍 Why STX?
- Build, don’t just configure – We own our tech stack and have the mandate to modernize it
- Strategic tech investment – We're not patching legacy, we’re building the future
- Close to the business – Direct access to traders, risk, and ops—no middle layers
